How Travelers Works in Arkansas

AM Best rates Travelers' main subsidiaries A++ (Superior) — the top of the scale, and a rating very few carriers hold. Here are the four personal lines we place in Northwest Arkansas, what the Quantum products actually do well, the commercial book behind them — and how we'll tell you when Travelers isn't the answer.

Short Answer

Cribb Insurance Group is an independent agency in Bentonville that places Travelers personal lines in Northwest Arkansas: Quantum Home 2.0, Quantum Auto 2.0, Quantum Boat 2.0 and personal umbrella. AM Best affirmed Travelers' main subsidiaries at A++ (Superior), stable, on August 8, 2025 — the highest rating on its scale. We quote it against 40+ carriers.

What Travelers does well

A++ paper, and a claims operation with real depth.

We don't rank carriers on this site. What we'll tell you is where we see Travelers work, and it comes down to three things that are easy to verify and hard to match.

★ The rating is the top of the scale

AM Best affirmed a Financial Strength Rating of A++ (Superior), stable outlook, for the main subsidiaries of The Travelers Companies on August 8, 2025. A++ is the highest rating AM Best issues, and very few carriers hold it.

It's worth knowing what that actually buys you. On a $500 claim, financial strength is trivia. On a liability verdict that runs past your limits, it's the entire product — the rating is the balance sheet standing behind a promise to pay an amount that would otherwise take your house.

The rating applies to the main pool subsidiaries rather than every Travelers affiliate; individual affiliates are rated separately. Ratings change — the current one is always at ambest.com.

Two claims features most people never hear about

Travelers takes personal insurance claims by phone or online 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, at 1.800.252.4633, or through MyTravelers® without logging in. That part is table stakes. These two aren't:

Loss Consultation. A pre-claim service for customers who've had a loss but aren't sure whether to file. A consultant reviews your policy with you and helps you decide — and takes the claim on the spot if you go ahead. Very few carriers offer a structured way to ask should I file this? before the answer is on your record.

A dedicated marine team. Boat claims route to marine specialists rather than into the general property and auto queue. On Beaver Lake that's not a detail — it's the difference between someone who's seen your problem before and someone reading a manual.

You can also just call us at (479) 286-1066. Whether to file at all is a question worth asking someone who isn't the one paying.

Quantum: current-generation product, built in tiers

Travelers names its current personal products Quantum — Quantum Home 2.0, Quantum Auto 2.0, Quantum Boat 2.0. The "2.0" matters more than it sounds: these are the current generation, and Travelers has been moving older policies onto them rather than leaving long-tenured customers on legacy forms. That's a carrier keeping its own book current, which is unusual enough to name.

The practical consequence is worth a phone call: if you've held a Travelers policy for a few years, it's worth confirming which product you're on, because the answer affects what's available to you — on the umbrella side, for instance, the auto product underneath sets the limits you can reach. That's a two-minute check, and it's ours to do.

What we place

Four personal lines. Plus commercial.

Not everything Travelers writes nationally — what our contract holds in Arkansas. Each of the four below has its own page, built from Travelers' product documents and cut for this state.

Home & auto

Above all of it

Travelers commercial — worth its own conversation

Travelers has been writing the businesses that hold up American main streets for more than 160 years, and its business owner's policy, Master PacSM, is built to carry the property and liability exposures a small business actually runs into — with scalable options above it when the exposure gets more complicated.

We place commercial property, general liability, business owners policies, commercial auto, commercial umbrella and landlord coverage through our markets. The product-level Travelers commercial pages are being built now, and we'd rather link you to nothing than to something thin. In the meantime: start a commercial quote or call us.

Landlord and rental property: an underwriting question with a real answer

Travelers can write it, and whether it fits depends on occupancy, how the property is used, the property type and underwriting. Short-term rental in particular changes the answer, and Northwest Arkansas has a real short-term rental market.

That's a conversation, not a checkbox — and it's a thirty-second phone call rather than a webpage. Call (479) 286-1066 and we'll tell you which of our markets fits the property, including markets other than Travelers.

Go deeper

The lines, in detail.

Each of these gets its own page, with the Arkansas cut and the parts worth a conversation before you buy rather than after.

Travelers Home — Quantum Home 2.0 Three coverage levels — Protect, Protect Plus, Protect Premier — with genuinely different special limits at each tier, plus optional packages for water, roof and siding matching, and equipment breakdown. Coverage E runs to $500,000, which is the number that decides whether your household wants an umbrella. We'll tell you which side of it you're on. Read the home page → Travelers Auto — Quantum Auto 2.0 Ten optional coverages including Accident Forgiveness, Decreasing Deductible and New Car Replacement — and all sixteen discounts Travelers publishes, where most drivers qualify for several and get told about two. Arkansas is an IntelliDrive 365 state, and that's a program worth understanding before you enroll rather than after. We'll walk it with you. Read the auto page → Travelers Boat — Quantum Boat 2.0 Arkansas was in the launch group for this product, and it shows: tournament fees, uninsured boater and naming your marina as additional insured all sit in the base form. Agreed value and your deductible are two different things — we make sure the endorsement matches what you think you bought. Read the boat page → Travelers Umbrella — $1M to $5M Liability above your auto, home and boat limits at once — plus libel, slander, defamation and invasion of privacy, legal defense costs, and liability that happens outside the United States. The umbrella doesn't get a discount; it gives one. Your auto, home and boat each drop for having it, so the quote you're looking at isn't the number that matters. Read the umbrella page →
Arkansas

Arkansas is an at-fault state. That's what makes limits worth reading.

This is the most useful thing on this page and it has nothing to do with which carrier you pick. It's the law here, and it's the same for everyone.

Your limit caps what the insurance company pays. It doesn't cap what you owe.

Arkansas is an at-fault tort state. If you're responsible for an accident, you're responsible for the damages — and the policy pays up to its limit. The rest doesn't disappear. It follows you.

The statutory floor for personal auto here is 25/50/25, and roughly one Arkansas driver in six is uninsured. Those two facts together are why the limits conversation is worth ten minutes: 25/50/25 was written by a legislature, not by what an injury costs.

Every policy has a top. Quantum Home 2.0's personal liability runs to $500,000. Arkansas boat liability generally starts at $100,000 in this market, while the statute asks for far less. None of those numbers were set by what a serious claim costs — and that gap, on any carrier, is the entire reason a personal umbrella exists.

Which is why the umbrella page exists, and why we'd rather have this conversation with you now than explain it later. Statements about Arkansas law are general information, not legal advice.
Meet Cribby

Travelers Cribby reads the declarations page with you.

Cribby the Chameleon is our guide to reading a policy in plain English.

A chameleon notices what's actually there. On a Travelers account that's usually which Quantum product you're really on, what your Coverage E limit is, whether the boat endorsement says what you assumed it says — and the discounts you qualify for that nobody mentioned. Travelers Cribby's here for that conversation.

Financial strength

A++ (Superior) — the top of the scale.

A++ AM Best · Superior

On August 8, 2025, AM Best affirmed the Financial Strength Rating of A++ (Superior) with a stable outlook for the main subsidiaries of The Travelers Companies, Inc. — collectively the Travelers Group. A++ is the highest rating on AM Best's scale.

The rating applies to the main pool subsidiaries rather than every Travelers affiliate; individual affiliates are rated separately. Ratings change; the current one is at ambest.com.

A rating is a solvency opinion, not a claims opinion

AM Best states plainly that a Financial Strength Rating does not address an insurer's claims-payment policies or procedures, and is not a recommendation to buy or keep any policy.

So A++ tells you Travelers can pay. That's a real and meaningful thing to know — it just isn't the same question as how a claim will go. Different questions, different sources. Anyone handing you a letter grade as the answer to all of them is handing you a logo.

What we actually do at a claim

Narrower than some agencies imply, and we'd rather be straight about it. We don't adjust your claim and we can't overrule an adjuster.

What we do: tell you whether a claim is worth filing before you file it, make sure the coverage that should respond gets identified, chase the file when it stalls, and move you to another of our markets if Travelers stops fitting. That last one is the part a captive agent structurally cannot do.

Why go through us

Travelers can only offer you Travelers.

We can tell you when the answer is no

We're appointed with 40+ carriers, which means "this isn't the right market for you" is an answer we're able to give — and it costs us nothing to give it honestly. That's not a slogan. It's a structural difference in who we're able to be wrong in favor of.

Some things only show up across carriers

Underlying limit requirements for an umbrella, which markets will write an older roof, who prices a teen driver reasonably, what a bass boat does to an endorsement — none of that is visible from inside one company. Twenty-five years of placing Arkansas business across a lot of markets is the only way to know the pattern.

The account is the unit, not the policy

Quote a policy and you get a price. Quote an account and you find the things that only appear when someone looks at all of it — the discount stack, the umbrella netting, the coverage that's doubled up in two places, the gap between the boat and the auto. Send us your declarations pages. That's the whole ask.

Local, and it matters more than it sounds

We're at 1601 SW Regional Airport Blvd in Bentonville, serving Bentonville, Rogers, Springdale, Fayetteville, Bella Vista, Centerton, Cave Springs, Pea Ridge, Gravette and Siloam Springs. Hail corridor, at-fault state, one uninsured driver in six, Beaver Lake, and a housing market that has done what it's done — these are the conditions we write in every day, not a market profile someone read.

What it costs

Planning ranges, not quotes.

$79 – $105 per month · full-coverage auto
$1,362 – $2,250 per year · bundled homeowners

Typical ranges for personal lines policies placed through Cribb Insurance Group across our markets; the homeowners band reflects a five-year-old $400,000 Northwest Arkansas home. These are not quotes, not carrier-specific, and not a guarantee. Auto depends on vehicles, drivers, limits, deductibles, garaging ZIP, driving history and credit-based insurance score. Home depends on dwelling value, roof age and material, construction, protection class, deductible selections, claims history and credit-based insurance score. Some households fall below these bands and some fall well above them.

FAQ

Travelers in Arkansas: common questions.

Does Cribb Insurance Group write Travelers in Arkansas?
Yes. We're an independent agency in Bentonville appointed with Travelers, and we place their personal lines across Northwest Arkansas — Quantum Home 2.0, Quantum Auto 2.0, Quantum Boat 2.0 and personal umbrella — along with commercial and landlord coverage. Because we're appointed with 40+ carriers, we quote Travelers alongside our other markets rather than starting from the answer.
Is Travelers financially strong?
AM Best affirmed a Financial Strength Rating of A++ (Superior) with a stable outlook for the main subsidiaries of The Travelers Companies — collectively the Travelers Group — on August 8, 2025. A++ is the highest rating on AM Best's scale, and very few carriers hold it. The rating applies to the main pool subsidiaries rather than every Travelers affiliate, and individual affiliates are rated separately. Ratings change; the current one is always at ambest.com.
What Travelers products are available in Arkansas?
On the personal side: Quantum Home 2.0 for homeowners, Quantum Auto 2.0 for auto, Quantum Boat 2.0 for boats and personal watercraft, and personal umbrella at $1 million to $5 million. Arkansas was in the launch group for Quantum Boat 2.0, which is why the product reads like someone had a lake in mind. Travelers also writes commercial and landlord coverage here, subject to underwriting and eligibility.
What does Travelers do well?
Three things stand out on the accounts we place. Financial strength: A++ (Superior) is the top of AM Best's scale, which is the entire product on a liability verdict that runs past your limits. Claims depth: Travelers takes personal claims 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, runs a pre-claim Loss Consultation service for customers who aren't sure whether to file, and routes boat claims to a dedicated marine team rather than the general property queue. And coverage depth: the Quantum products are built in tiers with genuinely different special limits, which suits households that want the policy to be right rather than cheapest.
Is Travelers cheaper than my current insurance?
Sometimes, and there's no way to know without running it. Any page that tells you a carrier is cheapest is guessing — rate depends on your vehicles, your roof, your claims history, your credit-based insurance score where Arkansas permits it under Ark. Code Ann. § 23-67-401, and a dozen other things specific to you. What we can tell you is that we'll quote Travelers against our other markets and show you where it lands, including when it lands badly.
Why use an independent agent instead of buying from Travelers directly?
Because Travelers can only offer you Travelers. We can tell you when they're not the right fit, and that answer costs us nothing to give honestly. There's also a category of thing that's only visible across carriers — which markets will write an older roof, who prices a teen driver reasonably, what underlying limits an umbrella actually requires. You can't see any of that from inside one company. Same price either way; more information.
Does Travelers write landlord or rental property coverage in Arkansas?
It can, and eligibility depends on occupancy, how the property is used, the property type and underwriting. Short-term rental in particular is the kind of thing that changes the answer, and Northwest Arkansas has a real short-term rental market — so it's worth an actual conversation rather than an assumption. Call (479) 286-1066 and we'll tell you which of our markets fits the property.
How do I get a Travelers quote in Bentonville or Rogers?
Start at our personal lines quote form, the commercial quote form, or call (479) 286-1066. If you have current declarations pages, send them — reading what you already have is faster than answering questions about it, and it's how we find the things you're paying for twice.

This page describes coverage in general terms for informational purposes only. It is not a policy, not an offer of insurance, and not a guarantee of coverage, availability, eligibility, or price. Coverage descriptions are general summaries and are not a contract; whether a particular loss is covered depends on the specific facts and on the provisions, exclusions and limits of the actual policy. Coverages, limits, discounts, program terms, product availability and eligibility vary by state, by policy and over time, are set by the carrier, and are subject to the carrier's underwriting qualifications and to the terms, conditions, limits and exclusions of the policy actually issued. Not all features are available in all states. Eligibility for landlord, rental property and all other risks is determined by the carrier on the facts of your property and operation; this page makes no representation that any particular property or business qualifies. If anything on this page conflicts with the issued policy, the policy controls.

Financial strength ratings are opinions of an insurer's ability to meet its ongoing insurance obligations, are subject to change, and are not recommendations to purchase, hold or terminate any policy, nor do they address an insurer's claims-handling practices; current ratings are at ambest.com. A rating applies only to the rated company.
