Cars, trucks — and what you tow.
Lumen Select writes private passenger auto for Arkansas households, and the program reaches past the driveway to trailers and recreational campers. Here's what the policy covers, what Arkansas actually requires, why the state minimum is a floor rather than protection, and the towing detail most drivers assume instead of confirming.
The short answer
Lumen Select auto covers liability (which Arkansas requires), collision, comprehensive, uninsured/underinsured motorist, and medical payments/PIP — for cars and trucks, and it can extend to trailers and recreational campers. Arkansas requires minimum liability of 25/50/25, but that's a floor, not protection — a serious crash blows past it fast. The policy is issued by Cimarron Insurance Company (founded 1947, rated A by Demotech), and because the program is agent-only, we're the way to quote and compare it.
Minimum limits and unlisted trailers.
Two quiet gaps show up on Arkansas auto policies: liability left at the legal minimum, and whatever's hitched to the back that nobody ever put on the policy.
Arkansas's required minimum: $25,000 bodily injury per person, $50,000 per accident, $25,000 property damage. It satisfies the law. It does not promise to cover a serious crash.
Where both gaps give way.
One badly injured person can exhaust the $25,000 per-person limit before the hospital bills are settled, and totaling a newer vehicle clears the $25,000 property-damage limit easily. Whatever's left, the at-fault driver pays personally — which in Arkansas, an at-fault state, can reach your savings and wages. Most agents suggest at least 100/300/100 plus UM/UIM.
The second gap is the trailer or camper. Liability from the towing vehicle often extends to a trailer in tow, but physical damage to the trailer itself usually has to be listed on the policy. Plenty of people tow a utility trailer or travel camper for years assuming it's covered. Say it out loud at the quote and it gets scheduled instead of assumed.
What Arkansas actually requires.
Arkansas is a financial-responsibility, at-fault state. Every driver must carry liability of at least 25/50/25 — $25,000 bodily injury per person, $50,000 per accident, $25,000 property damage — and proof of insurance must be carried at all times, with coverage verified through the state's online system. Driving uninsured brings fines, and can bring impoundment and license suspension.
Two coverages worth knowing about: uninsured/underinsured motorist and personal injury protection generally must be offered, and are included unless you reject them in writing. Don't reject them casually — UM/UIM is what protects you when the at-fault driver carries little or nothing, which is more common than most people expect. Collision and comprehensive are optional under the law, but a lender or lessor will require them on a financed vehicle.
Arkansas also gives comprehensive coverage more to do than in a lot of states: hail damages parked vehicles here regularly, and deer strikes are a routine claim. If you're carrying liability-only on a vehicle you'd struggle to replace, that's worth a second look.
UM/UIM is the coverage people regret dropping.
When the driver who hits you carries 25/50/25 or nothing at all, uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage is what pays for your injuries. It's inexpensive relative to what it does, and rejecting it to save a few dollars is the decision we most often see come back to bite. We'll make sure it's a deliberate choice, not a default.
The coverages inside an auto policy.
Liability (BI & PD)
Pays for injuries and property damage you cause to others. Arkansas requires 25/50/25; higher limits protect your assets far better and cost less than most drivers expect.
Collision
Repairs or replaces your own vehicle after a crash, regardless of fault, minus your deductible. Optional by law, but required by any lender or lessor.
Comprehensive
Covers non-collision losses — theft, hail, fire, vandalism, flooding, and animal strikes. In hail-prone Arkansas, this is the coverage that quietly earns its keep.
Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist
Pays for your injuries when the at-fault driver has too little or no coverage. Must be offered in Arkansas and included unless rejected in writing — don't reject it lightly.
Medical Payments / PIP
Helps with medical costs for you and your passengers after a crash, regardless of fault. PIP generally must be offered in Arkansas unless you decline it in writing.
Trailers & Recreational Campers
The program can extend to trailers and recreational campers. Liability often follows the tow vehicle, but physical damage to the trailer itself typically must be listed — so list it.
The factors behind the number.
Auto is rated on who drives, what they drive, and how it's covered. A handful of factors do most of the work.
Drivers & Records
Ages and driving histories of everyone on the policy — tickets, at-fault accidents, and years licensed. The single biggest swing on most auto premiums.
Vehicles & Towed Units
Year, make, model, safety features, and repair cost of each vehicle — plus any trailers or campers you list. Expensive-to-repair vehicles rate higher whatever the driver.
Limits & Deductibles
Higher liability limits cost more but protect far more; higher deductibles lower premium but raise your out-of-pocket at a claim. Where coverage decisions become price.
Location & Credit
Where you park and drive, local claim and theft trends, and (where Arkansas allows) a credit-based insurance score. Plus whether the home rides along on the account.
Arkansas households that drive — and tow.
Private passenger auto for the Mid-South footprint. Appetite and eligibility depend on drivers, vehicles, records, and state.
Auto pricing swings hard — which is why we shop it.
No carrier wins every driver. Records, vehicles, and household composition move auto rates more than almost any other line, so the best market genuinely varies household to household. Since this program is agent-only, we're the ones who can put its number next to the alternatives and tell you which fits your drivers.
What Arkansas drivers actually pay.
That's the typical range for full-coverage auto placed through Cribb Insurance Group across our markets — a Cribb average, not a Lumen Select rate and not a quote. Your own number turns on your drivers and records, your vehicles and anything you tow, the limits and deductibles you choose, your location, and (where allowed) a credit-based insurance score. Some drivers fall below this band and some well above it. What reliably helps: an accurate list of drivers, vehicles, and trailers, so the comparison across carriers is real.
Your policy is Cimarron paper.
Because Lumen Select is a program administrator rather than an insurer, the financial-strength question is about the company that issues the policy: Cimarron Insurance Company, Inc., founded 1947, an admitted property and casualty carrier rated A by Demotech. Read that honestly — Demotech is a different agency from AM Best and the two aren't directly comparable — but nearly eight decades of operating history is a meaningfully different profile from a brand-new insurer. What is new is the program, launched in 2024. On auto, what you feel most is claims handling and renewal pricing, so a rating is one input, not the whole picture.
Where we earn it on an auto policy.
The auto mistakes are consistent: liability left at the state minimum, UM/UIM quietly rejected, a trailer or camper never listed, and a renewal increase nobody re-shops. We set the limits on purpose, keep the protective coverages in, schedule what you tow, and flag the renewal — and on a newer program, that renewal check matters more than usual.

Lumen Select auto questions.
What does Lumen Select auto insurance cover?
The standard private passenger auto coverages: liability for bodily injury and property damage you cause (which Arkansas requires); collision for your own vehicle in a crash; comprehensive for non-collision losses like theft, hail, fire, and animal strikes; uninsured/underinsured motorist for when the other driver has too little or no insurance; and medical payments or PIP for injuries.
The program covers cars and trucks and can also extend to trailers and recreational campers — worth asking about specifically if you tow.
What's the minimum car insurance required in Arkansas?
Arkansas law requires liability of at least 25/50/25 under Ark. Code § 27-22-104: $25,000 bodily injury per person, $50,000 per accident, and $25,000 property damage. Arkansas is an at-fault, financial-responsibility state, and proof of insurance must be carried at all times.
Uninsured motorist coverage and personal injury protection generally must be offered and are included unless you reject them in writing.
Is Arkansas's minimum coverage enough?
It's the legal floor, not a protection target. 25/50/25 means a single serious injury can exhaust the $25,000 per-person limit quickly, and today's vehicles make the $25,000 property-damage limit easy to blow through — leaving you personally responsible for the rest.
Most independent agents suggest considering higher liability limits, often around 100/300/100, plus uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. The right number is a risk decision based on your assets and budget.
Does the program cover my trailer or camper?
It can, and this is worth asking about specifically. The Lumen Select auto program is described as covering cars, trucks, trailers, and even recreational campers — which matters because towing exposure is a common blind spot.
Liability from your towing vehicle often extends to a trailer in tow, but physical damage to the trailer or camper itself usually needs to be scheduled on the policy. If you own a utility trailer, a boat trailer, or a travel camper, tell us so it gets listed rather than assumed. Availability and eligibility vary, so we confirm it at the quote.
Who actually issues my Lumen Select auto policy?
Cimarron Insurance Company, Inc. Lumen Select, LLC is a program administrator that designs, underwrites, and services the program — but it isn't the insurance company.
Cimarron is an admitted property and casualty carrier founded in 1947 and rated A by Demotech, and it's the name on your declarations page. The program itself launched in 2024, so it's a newer program running on established paper.
How do I get a Lumen Select auto quote in Northwest Arkansas?
Start at our personal quote or call (479) 286-1066. Because Lumen Select is sold only through independent agents, we submit it for you — you can't shop this one on a rate site. Having your vehicles, drivers, and current limits handy makes the comparison sharper, and mention any trailers or campers.
We'll quote it against our other personal-lines markets, make sure your liability limits and UM/UIM are set to protect you rather than just meet the minimum, and revisit the number at renewal.
If our coverage guides and carrier comparisons are helpful, mark Cribb Insurance as a preferred source so more Northwest Arkansas drivers can find our local explanations.
Lumen Select is one of 40+ carriers we represent.
Which means we can tell you honestly whether this program is the right home for your cars — or whether another of our markets prices your drivers better. Since it's agent-only, you can't check that yourself. Run the quote, and we'll set your liability limits to protect you, keep UM/UIM in, list what you tow, and put the number next to the alternatives.

This page describes coverage in general terms for informational purposes only. It is not a policy, not an offer of insurance, not legal advice, and not a guarantee of coverage, availability, eligibility, or price. Arkansas minimum liability limits (25/50/25) are stated per Ark. Uninsured/underinsured motorist, PIP, and trailer or recreational camper coverage availability and terms vary by program, state, and form and are subject to underwriting approval; physical damage on a towed unit generally must be scheduled. The program operates in a limited number of states, and product availability and eligibility vary by state and are subject to the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions of the policy actually issued. If anything on this page conflicts with the issued policy, the policy controls.
Financial Stability Ratings are opinions of an insurer's financial stability, are subject to change, and are not recommendations to purchase, hold or terminate any policy, nor do they address an insurer's claims-handling practices; current ratings are at demotech.com. The A Financial Stability Rating referenced is assigned by Demotech to Cimarron Insurance Company, Inc., the issuing carrier, and not to Lumen Select, LLC. Demotech is a separate rating organization from AM Best; ratings from different agencies are not directly comparable.
