Foremost auto — Signature, 360, or Bristol West.

The mobile-home specialty book everyone knows Foremost for doesn't write cars. Your Foremost auto comes from Foremost Signature (the former MetLife Auto & Home), the combined Foremost360 platform, or — for a tougher record — Bristol West, a fellow Farmers company. Here's how the coverage works in Arkansas, the state minimums, the features worth adding, and how we get you onto the right one of the three. From an independent agency that writes all of it.

The short answer

Foremost auto isn't the specialty book you picture. Your car goes on Foremost Signature (formerly MetLife Auto & Home), the combined Foremost360 platform, or Bristol West for nonstandard and high-risk drivers — the original Foremost Choice book doesn't write auto at all. Arkansas requires 25/50/25 liability, with UM/UIM and PIP offered and declinable in writing. Worthwhile add-ons include new vehicle replacement, gap, a diminishing deductible, and rideshare. Backed by an A (Excellent) carrier group — and quoted against 40+ others, so we can move you as your record changes.

Which Foremost writes your car

Three companies write it. One famously doesn't.

This is the part that confuses people, so we lead with it. "Foremost auto" isn't one thing — it's whichever of these companies fits your driving record and your vehicle. Getting you on the right one is the job.

Foremost Signature Standard / preferred
  • The former MetLife Auto & Home book
  • Full-featured coverage for good records
  • Coverage levels & package options
Foremost360 The combined platform
  • The merged MetLife + Foremost program
  • Modern, standard auto
  • Bundles with home and umbrella
Bristol West Nonstandard / high-risk
  • A fellow Farmers company
  • Accidents, tickets, lapses — still writable
  • SR-22 / FR-44 filings when required
Foremost Choice Does NOT write auto
  • The original 1952 specialty book
  • Mobile homes, dwellings & toys
  • No cars — that's the other side of Foremost

Why writing all four matters at one desk.

A single-appointment agent has one auto answer. We have three Foremost answers plus 40 other carriers — so a clean-record driver, a teenager who just got a ticket, and someone rebuilding after an SR-22 can each land where they actually belong. And when a record improves, we can move you off the nonstandard company to a standard one and bring the price down. A direct-only relationship structurally can't make that move for you.

What Arkansas requires

The state minimum is a floor, not a plan.

25 / 50 / 25 Arkansas minimum liability

$25,000 bodily injury per person, $50,000 per accident, and $25,000 property damage (Ark. Code 27-22-104). Arkansas is an at-fault state, and proof of insurance — paper or electronic — must be carried.

What's required, and what's merely offered.

Liability (25/50/25) is the legal floor. It pays for the injuries and property damage you cause others; it does nothing for your own car. For that you add collision and comprehensive, which your lender will require on a financed vehicle anyway.

When you buy liability, Arkansas requires the insurer to offer you uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage and personal injury protection (PIP) — you can decline each in writing. With the freight traffic on I-49 and I-40, UM/UIM is the coverage that pays when the other driver can't, so declining it is a decision worth making on purpose, not by default.

Arkansas statutory minimums and offer requirements are general information, not legal advice, and are subject to change; the issued policy and current law control.
Coverages worth adding

The features that earn their keep.

Optional coverages available depending on the Foremost company and program — the ones drivers are glad they added and sorry they skipped.

Total-loss protection

New Vehicle Replacement

After a covered total loss on a qualifying newer vehicle, this can pay for a brand-new one of the same make, class, and body type — not a depreciated value — less your deductible.

Loan / lease gap

Gap Coverage

If your vehicle is totaled while you still owe more than it's worth, gap (loan/lease) coverage pays the difference between the actual cash value and your balance — the shortfall that sinks a lot of newer-car owners.

Up to $250–$500

Diminishing Deductible

Your deductible drops by a set amount for each consecutive year without a comprehensive or collision claim — up to a $250–$500 maximum reduction depending on the policy form. A reward for the claim-free years.

Uber / Lyft

Rideshare

If you drive for a rideshare service, this fills the gap a personal auto policy and the app's coverage can leave between passengers — so you're not exposed during the parts of a shift neither one covers.

While it's in the shop

Rental Reimbursement

Covers the cost of a rental car while yours is being repaired after a covered claim — up to the policy's daily and total limits, so a week in the body shop doesn't come out of pocket.

Stranded coverage

Roadside & Towing

Towing, jump-starts, flat-tire help, and lockout service when the day goes sideways — an inexpensive add that pays for itself the first time you use it.

Optional coverages, features, and eligibility vary by Foremost company (Signature, Foremost360, or Bristol West), by program, by vehicle, and by state; the issued policy and endorsements control. Some options are subject to underwriting review.
Discounts

The ones worth mentioning.

Foremost and Bristol West reward bundling, more than one car, paying ahead, and going paperless — and the bundle credit is usually the biggest lever.

The big lever

Multi-Policy / Bundle

Pairing your auto with a Foremost home, renters, condo, or mobile-home policy earns a package credit — and because we write all three Foremost families, you can bundle across them and still combine the bill and deductible.

More than one car

Multi-Car

Insuring more than one vehicle on the same policy lowers the per-vehicle cost — usually the easiest saving for a household with two or more cars.

Pay ahead

Paid in Full

Paying the full policy term up front instead of in installments reduces the total cost for the period — a simple saving if the budget allows it.

Go digital

Paperless / e-Documents

Agreeing to receive documents and billing by email earns a small premium reduction — a free credit for a change you'll barely notice.

Strength & what we do

Backed by an A (Excellent) group.

On August 1, 2025, AM Best affirmed the Financial Strength Rating of A (Excellent), stable outlook, for the members of the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies — the group behind the Foremost and Bristol West companies that write auto in Arkansas. A financial strength rating is an opinion about an insurer's ability to pay claims; it doesn't grade how a specific claim is handled, and it isn't a recommendation to buy or keep a policy. Different question, different source — the current rating is at ambest.com.

Where we earn it on an auto policy.

The auto mistakes are consistent: 25/50/25 limits that don't come close to what a real accident costs, UM/UIM declined without meaning to, and a driver stuck on a nonstandard company long after their record cleared up. We fix those. We don't adjust your claim and can't overrule an adjuster — but we'll tell you whether a claim is worth filing against your deductible, make sure the right coverage responds, chase the file when it stalls, and move you between Signature, Foremost360, Bristol West, or one of our other 40-plus markets as your life and record change.

What it costs

Your record sets the number.

$79 – $105 per month · full-coverage auto

That's the typical range for full-coverage auto placed through Cribb Insurance Group across our markets — a Cribb average, not a Foremost rate and not a quote. Your own number turns on drivers and ages, vehicles, your limits and deductibles, garaging ZIP, driving history, and — under Arkansas law — a credit-based insurance score, plus which of the three companies you land on: a Bristol West nonstandard price and a Foremost Signature preferred price are built on different logic entirely. Some drivers fall below this band and some well above it. Send your current declarations page and we'll build the real number and quote it against 40+ carriers.

Frequently asked questions

Foremost auto questions.

Which Foremost company will my auto policy actually be with?

Not the original Foremost. The specialty book Foremost is famous for — mobile homes and toys — doesn't write cars. Your Foremost auto comes from one of three places: Foremost Signature, the full-featured standard/preferred program that used to be MetLife Auto & Home; the combined Foremost360 platform; or Bristol West, a fellow Farmers company that handles nonstandard and high-risk drivers, including SR-22 and FR-44 filings.

Part of our job is matching you to the right one of the three — and moving you as your record changes.

What are Arkansas's minimum car insurance limits?

Arkansas requires liability limits of 25/50/25 — $25,000 bodily injury per person, $50,000 per accident, and $25,000 property damage (Ark. Code 27-22-104). Arkansas is an at-fault (tort) state. When you buy liability, the insurer must also offer you uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage and personal injury protection (PIP); you can decline each in writing.

The state minimum is the floor to drive legally, not the amount most drivers should carry — a single serious accident can blow past 25/50/25 fast, which is the conversation we have at the quote.

Can Foremost help if I have accidents, tickets, or need an SR-22?

Yes — that's exactly what the Bristol West side is for. Bristol West is the Farmers company behind Foremost's nonstandard and high-risk auto, and it can handle drivers with a rough record and file an SR-22 or FR-44 when the state requires proof of insurance.

If your record later improves, we can look at moving you to a standard program like Foremost Signature or Foremost360 — or to one of our other 40-plus carriers — to bring the price down. That move is the whole advantage of buying through an independent agency.

What optional coverages does Foremost auto offer?

Depending on the company and program, Foremost auto can add new vehicle replacement (which can pay for a new vehicle of the same make, class, and body type after a covered total loss, less your deductible), gap or loan/lease coverage, a diminishing deductible that drops for each consecutive claim-free year (up to a $250–$500 maximum depending on the policy form), rideshare coverage for Uber or Lyft, rental reimbursement, and roadside assistance.

Which features are available depends on the company, program, and your vehicle — we confirm that at the quote.

Can I bundle my Foremost auto with a Foremost home or mobile home?

Yes. You can bundle auto with a Foremost home, renters, condo, or mobile-home policy, and on the package products (like a Signature Combo or GrandProtect) the auto and home can share one policy, one bill, and one deductible.

Because we write all three Foremost families, you can mix and match across them and still bundle — your car doesn't have to sit with the same company as your mobile home to earn a multi-policy discount. Whether a package or separate policies fit better is what we sort out for you.

How do I get a Foremost auto quote, and is it agent-only?

Foremost and Bristol West are sold through independent agents — there's no instant bindable online quote directly from the company — so an appointed agency like ours is how the coverage is bought. Start at our personal lines quote form or call (479) 286-1066.

If you have your current auto declarations page, send it: reading what you already carry is faster than answering questions about it, and it's how we check your limits, your UM/PIP choices, and whether you're on the right Foremost company for your record.

Coverage, features, program availability, and eligibility vary by company (Foremost Signature, Foremost360, or Bristol West), by program, by vehicle, by state, and over time, are set by the carrier, and are subject to underwriting approval and to the terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions of the policy actually issued. New vehicle replacement, gap, diminishing deductible, rideshare, rental reimbursement, roadside, and similar features are optional, carry their own terms and limits, and may not be available on every company or program.
