Your bike — gear, custom parts, and all.
Motorcycle is a real, purpose-built Foremost product, not an afterthought on an auto policy. The AARP-endorsed program from Foremost Choice — and Foremost Signature alongside it — covers your riding gear, your custom chrome, and a year-round ride with no lay-up period. Here's what the coverage includes, the Value/Plus/Elite tiers, and the Arkansas rules from helmets to limits. From an independent agency that places it every day.
The short answer
Motorcycle is written by Foremost Choice — the AARP-endorsed specialty program with Value, Plus, and Elite tiers — and by Foremost Signature; the combined Foremost360 platform doesn't write it. The standouts are real: safety-apparel coverage for your helmet and leathers, custom-equipment coverage up to $30,000, total-loss settlement, and a year-round policy with no lay-up period. Arkansas requires 25/50/25 liability, a helmet under 21, and eye protection for all riders. Backed by an A (Excellent) carrier group — and quoted against 40+ others.
Two families write it — and one built its name on it.
The mirror image of the auto page: there, the original Foremost sits out. Here, it leads — with the AARP-endorsed program it's run for decades.
- The AARP-endorsed motorcycle program
- Decades of specialty bike experience
- Value, Plus & Elite tiers
- Classic, custom & low-speed variants
- The former MetLife Auto & Home book
- Motorcycle on its own or packaged
- Bundles with your home & auto
- The full-featured program
- The combined MetLife + Foremost platform
- Auto, home, landlord & umbrella only
- Your bike goes to Choice or Signature
A motorcycle policy, not a line on your car policy.
Riding gear, custom chrome, agreed value on a classic — none of that lives properly on a standard auto policy, which is why the bike belongs on its own specialty motorcycle policy. Because we write both Foremost motorcycle programs and represent 40 other carriers, we can put your ride where the coverage and the price actually fit — and bundle it with your home and auto for a package credit.
The bike, the gear, and everything bolted on.
The core coverages look like an auto policy — but the parts that make it a motorcycle policy are the ones a car policy never had.
Liability
Pays for injuries and property damage you cause others in an accident — the coverage Arkansas requires you to carry, at minimum 25/50/25. Guest-passenger liability protects a rider on the back, too.
Collision & Comprehensive
Collision repairs your bike after hitting an object or vehicle, regardless of fault. Comprehensive (Other Than Collision) covers theft, fire, vandalism, flood, and animal strikes — the non-crash losses.
Uninsured / Underinsured
If a driver with no insurance — or not enough — injures you, this steps in. Optional in Arkansas, but given how serious motorcycle injuries are, it's coverage most riders should carry.
Safety Apparel
Your helmet, leathers, gloves, and protective gear damaged in a collision — covered automatically when you carry collision, with the limit rising by package tier. The coverage a car policy has no concept of.
Optional / Custom Equipment
Chrome, custom paint, sidecars, saddlebags, and accessories the factory didn't install — automatically covered up to $3,500 with comprehensive, and increasable up to $30,000 for a heavily customized bike.
Trip Interruption & Roadside
Towing and roadside assistance built for a bike, plus trip-interruption help with lodging and meals if a covered breakdown or accident strands you far from home. Track-day coverage is available on higher tiers.
Value, Plus, or Elite.
Foremost's motorcycle coverage comes in tiers, so you pay for the protection your bike and your riding actually call for.
- Core coverage at the lowest cost
- A modest safety-apparel limit
- First Accident Forgiveness
- Optional towing & roadside
- Higher safety-apparel & equipment limits
- Total-loss settlement (a couple of years)
- Trip interruption & track-day coverage
- Towing & roadside included
- Largest apparel & replacement-cost equipment
- Diminishing deductible & deductible waiver
- Enhanced & permissive-use rental
- Multi-year total-loss / new-bike settlement
Riding something special?
Beyond the three main tiers, there are dedicated options for classic and custom motorcycles — think agreed-value treatment for a maintained or restored bike 25 years or older, or a one-of-a-kind build with more than $30,000 in added equipment — and for low-speed and neighborhood electric vehicles. If your ride doesn't fit a standard box, that's exactly the kind of thing this specialty book is built for.
Same limits as a car, plus the gear rules.
A motorcycle carries the same minimum liability as a car — $25,000 bodily injury per person, $50,000 per accident, and $25,000 property damage. UM/UIM and PIP are optional but worth serious consideration.
Helmets, eye protection, and why higher limits matter.
Helmets: Arkansas requires riders and passengers under 21 to wear a helmet (Ark. Code 27-20-104). Riders 21 and older may choose, though we'd never talk anyone out of one. Eye protection — glasses, goggles, or a face shield — is required for all riders, and a daytime headlight is required.
Limits: the state minimum is a floor, not a plan. Motorcycle injuries tend to be severe, and 25/50/25 can be exhausted fast — which is exactly why UM/UIM and higher liability limits are the first thing we talk through, not an afterthought.
The ones worth mentioning.
Foremost rewards more than one bike, mature and AARP riders, safety training, and — if you really do park it for winter — storing it.
Multi-Unit
Insuring more than one motorcycle — or your bike alongside a car, home, or other Foremost policy — earns a package or multi-unit credit. Bundling across the Foremost families still counts.
Mature & AARP Rider
The AARP-endorsed program is built with older riders in mind, and mature-rider consideration can apply. Worth asking about if you're an AARP member or a seasoned rider.
Safety Training
Completing an approved rider-safety course can earn a discount — and it's the kind of thing that pays off in more ways than the premium.
Lay-Up & Locked Storage
If you truly store the bike for several months, a lay-up discount can lower the off-season cost, with more for keeping it in locked storage. Advance-purchase credits reward quoting ahead, too.
Backed by an A (Excellent) group.
On August 1, 2025, AM Best affirmed the Financial Strength Rating of A (Excellent), stable outlook, for the members of the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies — the group behind the Foremost companies that write this coverage in Arkansas. A financial strength rating is an opinion about an insurer's ability to pay claims; it doesn't grade how a specific claim is handled, and it isn't a recommendation to buy or keep a policy. Different question, different source — the current rating is at ambest.com.
Where we earn it on a motorcycle policy.
The bike mistakes are specific: custom equipment insured for far less than it's worth, safety apparel nobody knew was covered, a rider stuck on state-minimum limits that a real injury blows through, and a policy canceled every winter that leaves a gap. We fix those at the quote and pick the right tier and program for your ride. We don't adjust your claim and can't overrule an adjuster — but we'll tell you whether a claim is worth filing, make sure the right coverage responds, chase the file when it stalls, and move you to another of our 40-plus markets if Foremost stops fitting.
Your bike and your riding set the number.
Motorcycle premium turns on the bike's type, engine size, and value; your custom equipment; the coverage tier and limits; your riding record and experience; garaging location; and, under Arkansas law, a credit-based insurance score. A cruiser, a sport bike, and a restored classic price on completely different logic. Too many variables for a webpage figure to mean anything, so we won't post one. This isn't a quote or a guarantee. What reliably helps: right-sizing your custom-equipment limit, bundling with a car or home, choosing a safety course, and carrying the year-round policy instead of canceling each winter. Send your declarations page and we'll build the number with you.

Foremost motorcycle questions.
Which Foremost writes motorcycle insurance?
Motorcycle is written by two of the three Foremost families. Foremost Choice is the flagship — it runs the AARP-endorsed motorcycle program and has specialized in bikes for decades, with the Value, Plus, and Elite tiers. Foremost Signature, the former MetLife Auto & Home book, also writes motorcycle, on its own or packaged with your home and auto.
The combined Foremost360 platform does not write motorcycle — it handles auto, home, landlord, and umbrella. It's the mirror image of the auto page, where the original Foremost sits out; here it leads. We place both, and match your bike to the right one.
Does Foremost cover my riding gear and custom parts?
Yes, and this is where a specialty motorcycle policy earns its keep. Safety apparel coverage — helmets, leathers, and protective gear damaged in a collision — is automatically included when you carry collision, with limits that rise by package tier.
Optional (custom) equipment coverage is automatically included with comprehensive up to $3,500, and you can raise it substantially — up to $30,000 — for custom paint, chrome, sidecars, and accessories the manufacturer didn't install. If you've put money into your bike, this is the coverage that protects it; a standard auto-style policy would not.
What are Arkansas's motorcycle insurance and helmet rules?
Arkansas requires the same minimum liability limits on a motorcycle as on a car — 25/50/25, meaning $25,000 bodily injury per person, $50,000 per accident, and $25,000 property damage. Uninsured/underinsured motorist and personal injury protection are optional but worth strong consideration given how serious motorcycle injuries can be.
On safety equipment, Arkansas requires riders and passengers under 21 to wear a helmet (Ark. Code 27-20-104), and eye protection — glasses, goggles, or a face shield — is required for all riders regardless of age.
What's the difference between the Value, Plus, and Elite packages?
They're tiers of increasing protection. Value is basic, affordable coverage with a modest safety-apparel limit and first-accident forgiveness — good for a stock or lightly modified bike. Plus adds a higher safety-apparel limit, a larger optional-equipment limit, total-loss settlement for a couple of years, trip interruption, and track-day coverage.
Elite is the top tier: the largest safety-apparel and replacement-cost optional-equipment limits, a diminishing deductible, deductible waiver, enhanced rental, personal-effects coverage, and multi-year settlement. There are also specialty tiers for classic and custom bikes and for low-speed vehicles. We match the tier to how you ride and what you've invested.
Do I have to cancel my coverage over the winter?
You don't have to, and Foremost makes a point of it. Its annual policy provides year-round coverage with no lay-up period, so if a warm winter day tempts you out, you're covered — no phone calls, no gaps.
If instead you truly store the bike for several months of the year, a lay-up or storage discount can lower your cost during the off-season. Either way works; canceling and rewriting every spring is the option we'd steer you away from, because it risks a coverage gap on those surprise riding days.
How do I get a Foremost motorcycle quote in Arkansas?
Foremost is agent-only, so an appointed agency like ours is how the coverage is bought. Start at our personal lines quote form or call (479) 286-1066. Have the year, make, model, and any custom or added equipment handy, and mention if you've taken a rider-safety course or belong to AARP, since both can affect discounts.
If you carry a current motorcycle declarations page, send it — reading what you already have is faster than answering questions about it, and it's how we check your gear, custom equipment, and limits actually fit your bike.
If our coverage explainers are useful, mark Cribb Insurance as a preferred source so more Northwest Arkansas riders can find our local, plain-English guides.
Foremost is one of 40+ carriers we represent.
Which means we can put your bike on the right Foremost program — Choice or Signature — or on one of our other specialty markets if that fits better, and bundle it with your car and home. Send your current motorcycle declarations page and we'll read it back in plain English: your gear and custom-equipment limits, your liability and UM/UIM, and whether you're a tier too low. If what you have is already right, we'll say so.
